Polymer Research Corporation acquired by GEO Specialty Chemicals

 -

Effective December 8, 2011 – Northern Edge, an international middle market M&A advisor, announces the sale of Polymer Research Corporation (PRC) to GEO Specialty Chemicals. The transaction was led by Justin Fink from the Dallas / Fort Worth office and supported by Northern Edge deal team members in Dallas and New York. Northern Edge represented Polymer Research as its exclusive advisor.

Polymer Research Corp., founded in 1993, specializes in organic polymers, including polydadmac and epiamine products. The acquisition will broaden GEO’s product offering, providing GEO’s customers with chemicals that can treat larger quantities of water with lower dosages for a wider spectrum of difficult applications.

“We continue to see strong demand for niche specialty chemical manufacturers from strategic buyers buying complementary businesses to broaden their product portfolio and capitalize on synergies,” said Justin Fink.

Polymer Research Corporation will join GEO’s Water Treatment division and contribute to a significant extension of GEO’s UltraFloc product category and allow access to new markets and distribution channels. Organic polymer usage is one of the fastest growing segments in water treatment. The acquisition of Polymer Research Corp. will drive GEO’s revenues in this sector of the market.
