BCMS RECOGNIZED AS A FINALIST FOR SEVERAL M&A ADVISOR AWARDS IN 2021

Bob Goldsmith News

We are delighted to announce that BCMS has again been selected as a finalist in several categories of the 20th annual M&A Awards presented in 2021 by The M&A Advisor, the world’s premier “think tank” and leadership organization for M&A, restructuring and financing professionals.

Each of the BCMS transactions under consideration demonstrates the differentiated service the firm provides to all of its clients – senior-level attention throughout the process, extensive identification and development of potential domestic and international buyers and vital guidance during difficult negotiations, among others – as well as certain specific highlights, including advising broad shareholder groups with disparate interests, thoughtful and creative positioning of our clients’ financial results in a period of uncertainty and managing a smooth transaction process and maintaining buyer interest despite COVID-19 pandemic constraints.

The BCMS-advised Sale of Magnolia Bakery to RSE Ventures is under consideration for the following categories:

  • M&A Deal of the Year ($25 to $50 million)
  • Private Equity Deal of the Year ($25 to $50 million)
  • Consumer Discretionary Deal of the Year (Under $100 million)

Since opening its first store in 1996 on Bleecker Street in New York City, Magnolia Bakery has expanded to become a highly successful business and perhaps the most widely recognized bakery in the world.  It is renowned for small-batch baking, handcrafted critically acclaimed baked goods and desserts, a welcoming vintage atmosphere and outstanding customer service. These elements combine to provide a unique customer experience and make its stores a one-of-a-kind destination.

RSE Ventures’ significant investment and operational experience, especially with consumer and media & marketing companies, is expected to support Magnolia Bakery’s growth by broadening its distribution channels and accelerating its e-commerce operations.

The BCMS-advised Sale of RadMD, LLC to Medica PLC is under consideration for the following categories:

  • Cross-Border Deal of the Year ($10 to $25 million)
  • M&A Deal of the Year ($10 to $25 million)
  • Corporate/Strategic Deal of the Year ($10 to $25 million)

RadMD, LLC is a leading Imaging Contract Research Organization providing services to the fast-growing clinical trials market and focusing on providing high-value imaging expertise services and applying cutting edge technology to reduce costs and improve efficiency in drug and device development.

In addition, Medica offers retinal diagnostic screenings in Ireland and selective managed services in diagnostics to the public and private sectors. The acquisition of RadMD supports Medica Group PLC’s strategy of diversification of customer base, geographical operations, and an entry into the exciting Clinical Trials market.

The BCMS-advised Merger of Recovery Point Systems, Inc with an affiliate of ABRY Partners is under consideration for the following category:

  • Information Technology Deal of the Year (Over $100 million)

Headquartered in Maryland, Recovery Point Systems, Inc. (“RPS”) is a leading US-based provider of mission-critical information technology infrastructure, colocation, and cloud-based resilience services. Through a network of well-maintained, state-of-the-art data center facilities in the United States, RPS protects organizations, both large and small, against technology failure, business downtime, and loss of data.

ABRY Partners is a sector-focused private equity investment firm in North America with extensive experience in data center, cloud, software, communications, business and information services transactions.  Its domain expertise and significant capital resources are expected to assist RPS in expanding its sales and marketing capabilities and focusing on growth, including evaluating and funding complementary acquisitions.

POSITIVE CLIENT OUTCOMES
